IDENTIFICATION PARADE
As per criminal procedure code, the statute, The identification parade is conducted during the investigation and it’s
object is to enable the witnesses to identify the persons concerned in the
offence who were previously unknown to those witnesses. The purpose of
identification test is to test the memory and veracity of witnesses who claim
to identify an accused person as the participant or one of the participants in
the offence. One of the objects of identification parade is to eliminate false
assertions as also to guard against
mistakes who asserts that he had clearly seen the accused who is unknown
to him by name and face, was yet one whom he could pick out if he met him
again, is thus given a chance to prove his assertion in test designed for the
purpose
