Nstep.

While entering e-courts first we have to select state, district and then court complex.

Case status.

When a case is entered in the data base of the court a CNR number is given. By using this CNR number the status of the case can be seen. CNR number is the same for the case from the lower court level to higher courts. We can see the status of the case by giving the case number, name of the parties, name of the advocate, act related to the case, FIR number etc. There is QR code provision given near CNR number. When we click that we can get the QR code, can take print out of that and paste it to the concerned case bundle. When we scan that QR code with the smart phone we can get the status of the case.

Cause list

In this menu bar we can see the cause list of the court day wise. Select the entry from the court name select box, which shows the court number, the judge name and the designation of the judge for displaying the cause list. Then select cause list date from the calendar control.

Enter the captcha (the 5 alphanumeric characters shown on the screen) in the text box provided. Then click on the civil or criminal button, to accordingly display the civil or criminal cause list of the selected court and date.

Court  order

This is a separate menu bar for the orders of the courts alone. By entering the order date, case number, court number or order date, one can see the order of the court. In this by clicking go button one can get order / judgement of the cases satisfying the search cretaria. Then by clicking on the order on exhibit or copy of judgement to view the orders / judgement in PDF format.

Caveat search

‘Any where’ In this option, the system will display the caveat when you enter a part of the caveator or caveatee name as the search criteria. For example if the user makes a search using the keyword Ram as search cretaria for the caveator or caveatee name, then the system should display all the matching caveats like Ramakant or ganesh ram joshi or jairam pant.

‘starting with’ In this option the system will display the caveat when the search string matches the caveatee or caveator name starting with the search cretaria.

‘Soundex’ In this option, the system will display the caveat when you enter a part of the caveatee or caveator name which sounds like or phonetically matches with the search cretaria.

‘subordinate court’ In this option you can search the caveat by using subordinate court name as cretaria.

‘caveat number’ In this option the system will display the caveat when you enter a part of caveat number and year, if any active caveas match the search cretaria.

Then enter the captcha click on the go button to get list of all the cases satisfying the given caveat search condition.

Automated email to our inbox.

There is also a provision for automated email to our inbox regarding hearing dates and judgements. In case we are in a place where there is no internet access we can get SMS alert by registering in this e-courts.

Digital diary for an advocate

An advocate can use this e-court as his digital diary.

Depositions

Through the court status menu bar, on can get PDF format of depositions, by clicking in appropriate places.

E-filing

This is very important feature, which is the need for this pandemic. Before going for e-filing one has to make a CIS entry in the courts data base where he practices. Then he has to register in e-filing portal www.efiling.ecourts.gov.in. Then a page will be created for him and can make e-filing. There are separate columns given in that portal to make entries regarding our case. We can use digital signatures. We can give alternate addresses of the parties so that if he is not available in one address automatically summons will be served to the next address.

E-payments

One can make the payment of court fees through online payment. E-stamps are available which can be made use of.

Nstep

This is a milestone in process serving. The process servers mobile is connected with the GPRS of the courts data base. So serving of summons cannot be evaded.

These are all the main features of the e-courts and e-filing.
