Suppose the deceased was aged 50 years at the time of accident, employed as sub inspector of police. His gross income was  Rs.11,101/ per month and also marked salary certificate. Since he was aged 50 years, he is entitled to 15% enhancement towards future prospects, (Rs.11,101+1,665) = Rs.12,766/, since there were 6 dependents in this case, ¼ of his income has been deducted for his personal expenses. Normally courts award compensation in this basis in death of government employee. They also order to pay the cost of the litigation and interest for the award amount from the date of petition till deposit at the rate of 7.5% pa. If the deceased was hospitalized before death and incurred medical expenses, that also will be awarded. This is the way in which the courts award compensation in death cases.
